On September 24, 2018, Snapchat team tied up with Amazon.com Inc. to enable users to buy products based on what they see through their smartphone’s camera lenses.
In the beginning of this week Snapchat gave all its users a news that they shall be providing Visual Search , Teams says this update will be rolling out very soon, there is no exact date for this update as of now.

What will be in this update?

Snapchat’s mobile app, which opens up to a camera, using which people can use disappearing images and videos to share with their closed ones. It is having 500M+ downloads with 4.0 rating on android play store and 2.4 rating on AppStore.

“Visual Search” feature is very easy to use. Just position your Snapchat camera at any physical product or a barcode, then press and hold on the camera screen to start.

When the item or barcode gets recognized, an Amazon card shall appear on-screen, surfacing a link for that item or product or similar ones available on Amazon.

Users can click on the screen and navigate to Amazon.com and check out prices. It also allows users to buy products and view their specifications or continue browsing.

This new feature of Snapchat shall be groundbreaking in terms of social media industry, and will change the shopping experience of users looking through thousands of products.
